In a significant development for the esports community, BOOM Esports has officially announced the departure of its Dota 2 roster, marking the end of a memorable chapter in the team’s history.
A Heartfelt Farewell
The announcement, made via Twitter on 9th November, was a touching tribute to the team’s star carry, John “Natsumi-” Vargas. BOOM Esports expressed deep gratitude for Natsumi-‘s contributions during the past season. This move coincided with Geek Fam’s revelation of a new roster, which notably includes Natsumi- as its carry.
Key Departures
The same day also saw the official exit of Ye “BoBoKa” Zhibiao and Chung “Ws” Wei Shen from BOOM Esports. The organization extended its thanks to both players for their significant contributions, particularly during The International 2023 qualifier. It’s noteworthy that BoBoKa, who had joined BOOM on loan from Team Aster, had earlier disclosed on Chinese social media Weibo that he was no longer under contract with any team.
The Final Goodbyes
On 10th November, BOOM Esports concluded this series of farewells by acknowledging the departure of its remaining two members, Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer and Yap “xNova” Jian Wei. In a poignant Twitter post dedicated to xNova, the organization highlighted his dedication and hard work, emphasizing the strong bond formed during his tenure. A separate post dedicated to Yopaj acknowledged his crucial role in helping the team reach The International over the past two years.
